Constant change
I am trying to introduce more point work into my shiatsu but this has meant the way I conduct treatments is changing again. I have always used a few favourite points but now that I am trying to use a wider set and for specific effect I need to plan when in the treatment I will work with them.
My shiatsu is constantly evolving and this is just the latest stage. But this is what I really like about shiatsu. As I gain more experience my shiatsu will change. As I learn more about shiatsu and Chinese medicine my shiatsu will change. As I grow older and my body changes so too will my shiatsu.
But shiatsu changes from client to client too. No two treatments are the same. Even during a treatment my shiatsu may change as I react to the Ki of my client.
As a student you expect learn and change but even after one graduates and progress to working as a registered practitioner this process never stops. In fact it must never stop.
