Churning over problems and thoughts is something I do quite often. A shiatsu session I gave the other night, I did what I thought very little, I just worked the Spleen meridian from head to toe. I finished the session believing I’d done nothing of any benefit. I have been suffering from one cold after another recently, so I’m for ever snotty! This also has an impact on my sessions, which have been few.
My conclusion, we expect too much from each session. Well I certainly do! Imbalances which are apparent in the person might have been occuring for many years, one shiatsu session will not simply resolve the issues. Then again sometimes it may shift the huge mountain, by pulling out a pebble from the base.
Suffering from colds and flu for the past two months has been very inconvenient. But it has forced me to take some days away from the day job and the stress involved in the office. I’ve found some more jobs to apply for and had time to read books I’ve been stacking up for several weeks.
A book I would like to highly recommend is
The Power of Now, by Eckhart Tolle.
The book is very interesting and talks about how we inflict lots of emotional pain on ourselves, worrying about the future when it has not happened, or giving time to past worries, which we cannot change because they are in the past.
“Enjoy the present” A useful book to help understand the Zen way!

[…] Last week I promised that I had some exciting new ideas for ShiatsuBlogger. I am now pleased to announce that the first of these ideas has come to fruition. […]

Finding those opportunities

Personal Development

It is difficult to imagine how troubled times can be an opportunity, but they can.

Yesterday I posted that what is happening to me is one of those times and at the time my mind was a complete blank when it came to how to make the most of it. Then out of nowhere several ideas made themselves known.

A couple of them involve this site but will require a little bit of work to implement; but suddenly my Shiatsu and IT worlds collide to make ShiatsuBlogger a more useful resource.

It is only after I accepted my decision that this happened. In Masunaga theory one might say that having come to acceptance (stomach) then I assimilated the information (small intestine) that allowed me to make a choice of direction (liver).
