Taking a little control
In my post Feeling the pain again I said that I was angry at myself for allowing others to make decisions on my behalf. So, if my work manger would not speak to me then I needed to get the ball moving. I requested a meeting and explained how unhappy I was with the situation.
Action has been promised and I was offered several possible ways forward. I choose one pretty close to the solution that I had in mind. It is early days but this seems to have worked out well for me.
In the past I would have let this situation fester by stoically just getting on with it but that was just unhealthy. I hope that I will look back on the events of this year as a lesson on taking control.
