Ig Nobel Awards 2006
The Ig Nobel prize is a parody of the Nobel prize. Although the winning research is chosen for its attention grabbing humour it is also thought provoking. This is particularly true for the 2006 Ig Nobel award for medicine that been awarded to research into a cure for hiccups by Digital Rectal Massage.
As students of Chinese Medicine we already knew of the connection between the Lung and Large Intestines; but I think the Shiatsu Society’s code of ethics will prevent us from practising this particular cure!
